Ferrotec offers a variety of options for sealing thermoelectric modules that are operating in high humidity environments.
Choosing the right seal for a thermoelectric (Peltier) module is important in applications exposed to humidity, condensation, or frequent temperature changes. Both epoxy and silicone seals protect the module from moisture, but they are optimized for different operating environments.
Epoxy seal offers the highest level of moisture protection and is ideal for high-humidity or condensation-prone environments where long-term reliability is critical. Ferrotec’s flexible epoxy formulation resists cracking, withstands thermal cycling, and significantly reduces moisture ingress compared to standard RTV silicone seals. Epoxy-sealed modules are recommended for applications operating below 80°C.
Silicone seal (RTV) provides excellent protection against condensation while maintaining high flexibility over a wide temperature range of -60°C to +200°C. It is the preferred choice for applications with frequent temperature cycling or higher operating temperatures where elasticity and thermal stability are essential.
Ferrotec can offer either small modifications to standard modules (such as custom wire leads, sealed modules etc.) or completely custom designed modules in terms of size, shape, substrate materials or metallization.
Examples of customized modules would be for example different types of multistage modules, gold plated, with metalization patterns or RTV sealing.
Modules with connectors and pre-wired module sets are also available.

A Peltier thermoelectric cooler (TEC) module is a solid-state device that transfers heat from one side of the module to the other when powered by DC current.
Unlike compressor-based cooling systems, Peltier modules have no moving parts, making them compact, quiet, reliable, and virtually maintenance-free for precision temperature control.
Peltier modules are used in applications requiring precise temperature control, including medical devices, laboratory instruments, industrial automation, telecommunications, laser systems, imaging equipment, food and beverage cooling, and electronic component temperature stabilization. They are ideal where compact size, reliability, and low maintenance are important.
Selecting the right Peltier module depends on factors such as the required cooling capacity, temperature difference (ΔT), operating voltage, available space, heat load, and environmental conditions.
An optimized thermal design, including appropriate heat sinks and thermal interface materials, is essential for achieving the best performance and efficiency.
Thermoelectric cooling offers several advantages, including compact size, silent operation, no refrigerants, precise temperature control, and high reliability due to the absence of moving parts. These features make Peltier modules well suited for sensitive electronics, portable equipment, and applications where traditional refrigeration systems are impractical.
Yes. Peltier modules are available in a wide range of sizes, cooling capacities, and configurations to meet different application requirements. Customized solutions may include specific dimensions, sealing options for harsh environments, multi-stage modules for greater temperature differences, or application-specific thermal designs.
