EG Electronics AB is closely monitoring the situation regarding the COVID-19 (Corona) virus outbreak globally.

In every country where we have operations, we are committed to follow the regulations set out by each country to reduce the spread of the virus ranging from actions like travel bans to home office when possible.

The supply chains are affected globally. As previously informed, EG Electronics AB and several of its suppliers have issued force majeure declarations. We are closely monitoring our deliveries with our suppliers and freight forwarders to secure the latest information on when we can deliver. Our warehouses in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Sweden, North Carolina in US are all operating today and we are taking measurements to maintain them open.

Please rest assured that we are carefully monitoring your orders. You will receive information from your regular contact person if, and when, we will run into shortages, depending on the development of the outbreak. We will do our outmost to offer alternatives or workarounds in any case of supply chain disruptions.

EG Electronics AB is closely monitoring the situation regarding the Corona virus outbreak in China and the work suspension period. We care for our staff in China, our logistic hub in Hong Kong and suppliers in China. With the information known today, our warehouse in Hong Kong is open, we have submitted application to government for opening EG Electronics’ office in Shanghai and we are waiting for approval for our staff to resume to office. Meanwhile, they are working from home. The same situation goes for majority of our Chinese suppliers.

The sudden outbreak of pneumonia epidemic belongs to force majeure. Although EG Electronics had prior the Chinese New Year secured to order volumes to cover the normal holiday period, we unfortunately see that the current prolongation of the Corona virus outbreak with suspension period will affect our deliveries. We also anticipate that the same situation will apply to our downstream suppliers globally and several of them have already declared force majeure. For EG Electronics and our supply chain, it was impossible to anticipate a sudden outbreak of a virus of this magnitude and work suspension period in China. This Force Majeure Declaration is valid until work suspension period has ended, production has been recovered, and freight options are fully available. During this period our company shall not be held liable for any non-performance and/or delayed performance of purchase orders due to this outbreak.
