The current situation in the Middle East is affecting parts of the global freight network and may result in longer transit times, reduced flexibility, and changed routing for selected shipments. We at EG Electronics monitor developments closely together with our logistics partners and are working proactively to reduce the impact as much as possible.
To support continuity and delivery reliability, we encourage customers to work with a longer planning window than usual for upcoming shipments. This gives better opportunities to secure suitable transport solutions and adapt early if conditions change.
We also want to highlight that freight costs may increase in the near term due to limited capacity, rerouting, and additional market-related charges.
Where this affects upcoming deliveries, we will share information as early as possible.
Semiconductor Update
At present, the market is experiencing significant allocation pressure on DRAM and NAND Flash, as well as limited availability on certain Intel CPU SKUs. This situation is driven by continued strong demand from AI datacentres combined with constrained supply across the industry.
As a result, component pricing has increased and remains highly volatile. Suppliers are adjusting prices frequently, and in many cases without extended notice.
Due to these circumstances, all quotations should be considered indicative only, and pricing cannot be guaranteed until the time of invoicing.
We strongly recommend placing orders as early as possible to help secure supply and reduce the risk of further price adjustments.
Our Product Manager Daniel Åkerlund has previously written few words about this memory component shortage. You can read more about his takes regarding the causes, risks and what to do now, you can read the article here.
