Electronic UPS circuit breaker providing selective overcurrent protection for AC 230 V UPS systems with adjustable electronic tripping.
The Electronic UPS circuit breaker E-T-A EBU10-T delivers reliable and selective overcurrent protection for AC 230 V UPS systems. It solves a common problem in UPS installations where conventional miniature circuit breakers fail to trip correctly due to limited short-circuit power. Instead of relying purely on thermal or magnetic tripping, the EBU10-T uses intelligent electronic monitoring to protect connected loads safely and predictably.
This electronic UPS circuit breaker combines a certified miniature circuit breaker with adjustable electronic tripping. As a result, it disconnects faulty circuits quickly during overloads or short circuits. At the same time, it keeps the remaining UPS output active. Therefore, critical systems stay online, and unnecessary downtime is avoided.
The EBU10-T allows independent adjustment of UPS input current and load current. This flexibility improves selectivity and ensures accurate coordination between the UPS and downstream circuits. Consequently, overloads are detected early and isolated at circuit level. This approach also enables more efficient system design. In many cases, engineers can reduce UPS size by up to one third, which lowers total system cost and simplifies planning.
The device supports rated currents of 4 A, 6 A, 10 A, and 16 A with B or C tripping characteristics. Clear LED indicators show operating status, adjustment phases, and fault conditions. In addition, an integrated auxiliary changeover contact provides remote status signalling for monitoring and automation systems.
Installation is fast and straightforward. The EBU10-T mounts on standard DIN rails and uses push-in terminals on the load and signalling side. The product is available in both single-pole and two-pole versions. This makes it suitable for a wide range of AC UPS architectures. With its robust construction, wide temperature range, and compliance with international standards, the EBU10-T is a dependable solution for protecting critical UPS-powered circuits.
