Description

Hall Effect Rotary Sensors RTY and RTP Series are built for precise and reliable rotary position measurement. They are designed for harsh industrial and transportation environments where accuracy and durability are essential. These sensors deliver true non-contact operation, which reduces mechanical wear and extends service life.

Hall Effect Rotary Sensors comes with an integral shaft and is available with or without a lever. Choosing the lever option helps reduce the number of linkages, which simplifies installation and lowers system cost. By contrast, the RTP Series separates the magnet from the sensing body. This design eliminates bearing wear caused by debris, misalignment, or radial forces. As a result, the RTP Series achieves unlimited mechanical life and is well suited for rugged applications.

Both series rely on magnetically biased Hall-effect technology. They convert rotary movement into a linear output signal for accurate feedback. In addition, eight sensing ranges from 50° to 360° provide flexibility for diverse applications. With IP69K sealing, automotive-grade EMC testing, and built-in protection against reverse polarity and short circuits, these sensors ensure reliable performance even in demanding conditions.

Applications cover both transportation and industrial markets. For example, in trucks, buses, and off-road vehicles, they detect pedal, throttle, and suspension movement, which improves fuel economy and safety. In marine environments, tilt and trim sensing helps protect engines and propellers. Meanwhile, in industrial use cases such as valve control, HVAC damper regulation, and irrigation equipment, they support better efficiency and system reliability.

Built for long-term use, the RTY Series offers a life expectancy of 35 million cycles. The RTP Series, however, supports infinite rotation. Together, the two series provide engineers with flexible, robust, and cost-effective rotary sensing solutions.
