Ultra-Rugged Mobile Microserver for Tactical Edge Computing
Ultra rugged tactical microserver μDARC from Kontron is designed for edge computing in the harshest environments. It offers resilience, compact size, and extremely low power consumption. The sealed IP67-rated housing protects it from dust, water, and shock. This makes it ideal for missions in the field or remote industrial locations.
At its core is a quad-core Arm® Cortex-A35 i.MX8X processor with an additional M4F core. It delivers strong computing power while consuming under 5 Watts. This allows the μDARC to gather, analyze, and transmit data in real time—without draining mobile or battery power
The μDARC is optimized for SWaP (Size, Weight, and Power)-constrained missions. It weighs only 735 grams and measures 159.2 x 111 x 38.4 mm. This compact design fits easily into soldier gear, UAVs, UGVs, or mobile units. Its fanless build is silent and reliable. Built-in sensors monitor temperature, pressure, and voltage to improve durability.
Connectivity is versatile and robust. It includes 3x USB 2.0, 2x Gigabit Ethernet, and 2x serial ports. Optional Wi-Fi and Bluetooth expand wireless capability. These features ensure fast and secure communication with multiple devices and systems.
The μDARC Ultra rugged tactical microserver also supports TPM for secure key storage. It runs on Linux Yocto 4.0, offering a flexible and open software platform. It meets MIL-STD-810G, STANAG 4370, and MIL-STD-461G standards for rugged performance and electromagnetic compatibility.
Common use cases include soldier-worn computing for sensor fusion and analysis. It supports UAV and UGV edge computing for real-time video, telemetry, and navigation. It also serves as a mobile cybersecurity gateway to secure communications in the field.
With ITAR-free status and long-term support, the Kontron μDARC is ready for modern defense and surveillance missions. It is a dependable node in any network-centric operation.
