Kontron KBox A-251-AML/ADN Embedded Box PC

The industrial grade KBox A-251-AML/ADN is an extremely compact industrial PC based on the new Intel Atom® x7000RE processors, Intel® N97 or Core™ i3-N305 processors. By integrating these new Intel® processors, the industrial PC offers a future-oriented platform for applications in demanding industrial environments. Another special feature of the system is the so-called ‘IO Door’, which can be used to offer a variety of additional interfaces.

 

The industrial-grade KBox A-251-AML/ADN was specially designed for demanding IoT gateway applications in an industrial environment. At the heart of the industrial PC are the latest generation processors from the Intel Atom® X7000, Intel® N and Intel® Core™ i3 N series with up to eight cores and a maximum of 16 GB DDR5 memory. These processors are characterized by high energy efficiency and impressive computing power and thus form the basis for demanding real-time applications, machine learning or the processing of large amounts of data. 

 

In addition to a DisplayPort and two 2.5GbE interfaces, the new KBox A-251-AML/ADN also has three USB 3.2 ports, including a USB-C port, as well as a USB 2.0 port and an RS232 serial interface. The KBox A-251-AML/ADN can be expanded with a wide range of functionalities using the two internal M.2 expansion slots, enabling the integration of SSDs, fieldbuses, and wireless technologies such as 4G/5G or WiFi 6 connectivity.

 

The special feature of this industrial PC is the newly created IO door on the left-hand side of the system, providing access to a variety of additional interfaces. For example, serial or LAN ports, fieldbuses or digital IOs can be integrated and made available to the customer on request.

 

The fanless, robust system design guarantees an extended service life and high system availability, even in harsh industrial environments. The KBox A-251-AML/ADN can be operated in the range from 0 °C to +60 °C or optionally also in the extended temperature range between -40 °C and +60 °C.
